2022 Young Authors Writing Competition

The Young Authors Writing Contest is an annual event hosted by Give 4 Kidz, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is designed as a celebration to honor exceptional writing by young authors ages 9- 18.

All submissions will be published on the Give 4 Kidz website. Winners of the contest will have their short stories published in a newspaper! Winners will also receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card and $25 of in-store credit at DBZ Discounts Bookstore.

Additional live event details
  ~ Every child that participates will be invited to read        their story aloud.
  ~ All young authors will be invited to sit at a signing        table to autograph their stories.
  ~ Fun activities and giveaways.
  ~ Accomodations for live stream attendees and                participants will be made available.

Age Group categories:
   ~ 9 to 11
   ~ 12 to 14
   ~ 15 to 18
One winner from each category will be chosen.

What do I do next?
1. Fill out registration form 
2. Read contest rules  
3. Write an original short story (150 to 1500 words).
4. Submit story by April 20th, 12am-midnight PST          via email to [email protected]  
5. Follow us on social media for updates and                    announcements (links at bottom of page)
6. Attend the competition event on April 30th,                  12pm - 2pm
